What is STI?

The UPR - Mayaguez Summer Transportation Institute started on Monday, June 24, 2002 and ended on July 19, 2002. This program has been designed in such a way that 16 high school students from the west side of Puerto Rico can participate in the program. High school students starting their eleventh grade are eligible to participate in the Transportation Institue. The duration of STI covers a holiday and a day of rest, so it will be a total of 18 days participating in camp. The activities programmed will vary and will include a trip to San Juan and a stay at a given hotel. The trip to San Juan also includes visits to the Tren Urbano site, the Metropolitan Bus Authority, the International Airport, the Marine Port Authority of San Juan , the Piñones Trail, and the Art Museum of Puerto Rico.
